Alexey has more than 7 years of experience in IT as a software and integration architect, project and program manager. Under management of Alexey large integration projects in Russia/CIS was implemented such as the ESB for Sberbank which was acknowledged as the largest integration solution in the world. As a head of integration solutions practice Alexey is responsible for new solutions in SOA and B2B integration and team and business development. He also supervises integration projects implemented by CROC.
Amila is a Senior Technical Lead who leads the Cloud team at WSO2. In addition to his development efforts, Amila also has provided technology consulting on customer engagements including customer QuickStart programs.Prior to joining WSO2, Amila was involved in developing value added services for mobile operators and specialized in Java at this time. Amila is also an active contributor to the Apache Synapse project of the Apache Software Foundation.
Anjana is a technical lead who focuses on the development of the WSO2 Data Services Server. He has carried out several onsite customer engagements, primarily focused on integration enabled by the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus.
He is a contributor to Apache Axis2, and participated in the Google Summer of Code 2006 where we worked on the Apache Mirae project in implementing a multimedia messaging service transport. He also has experience in mobile computing, service-oriented architecture for the European Union’s Information Society Technologies, and Java enterprise Web development.
Asanka focuses on the company’s vertical market capabilities, including financial services. Additionally, he provides consulting and conducts regular training sessions and workshops for enterprise IT architects and developers.
He has more than 10 years of industry experience implementing projects that range from desktop and Web applications through to highly scalable distributed systems and service-oriented architectures in the financial domain, mobile platforms, and business integration solutions.
Chamith, who is also Manager of Infrastructure, currently oversees WSO2’s overall system and network operations.
He has over five years of experience in systems and network administration. He was an original author of the Texplorer Project http://texplorer.sourceforge.net and has interests in platform and infrastructure virtualization, distributed computing, IT security, load balancing, cloud monitoring and backup systems.
Chathura focuses on WSO2 BPS and the overall BPM strategy. He has also contributed extensively to the WSO2 Governance Registry and WSO2 ESB. In addition, he has involved in the Apache Synapse and Apache Axis2 projects. Chathura holds a BSc (honors) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and a PhD from the Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
He is a senior partner at Emoxa which is an innovative SOA consulting firm. He has 19 years of experience in Enterprise System Architecture. He is also the co-author of SOA “An Architect’s Guide”. He has helped customers to use SOA principles and tools to achieve business and IT agility.
Dakshitha is an Associate Technical Lead in the Solutions Architecture/Technical Sales team. She has hands on experience in Java/J2EE technologies and has worked on designing and implementing software solutions in the fields of health-care information systems and content management systems for telecommunications providers prior to her employment at WSO2. Prior to joining the Solutions Architecture/Technical Sales team she worked with the WSO2 Developer Studio team.
Dimuthu focuses on cloud technologies, the WSO2 Carbon Framework, and WSO2 Identity Server at WSO2. She is an expert in Java and Java-related technologies, and was an initial team member of the Axis-Mora project, in which she oversaw the de-serialization process of the project. She is an Apache committer and a member of the Axis2 Project Management Committee; she has also contributed to the Apache Rampart and WSS4J projects.
In addition, Dimuthu has conducted several WSO2 technical webinars and has published numerous technical articles and tutorials.
Dmitry, as Vice President – Cloud, oversees all projects related to WSO2’s cloud offerings.
Prior to WSO2, he worked at Quest Software (now a part of Dell) as Director of Cloud Solutions, and later co-founded Jelastic PaaS and led Jelastic’s sales, marketing, customer, and partner relationships. Dmitry has been a featured speaker at multiple industry events including Microsoft TechEd, VMware VMWorld, Parallels Summit, Quest Innovate, and Technology Experts Conference (TEC).
Under Fabrizio’s leadership, CSI-Piemonte has successfully achieved the delivery of SOA infrastructure, ALM & model driven generation platforms and open data and big data technology for enterprise information analysis. He is currently working on the delivery of CSI-Ecosystem, a federation of information systems based on a newborn CSI-Piemonte Private Cloud, and in defining a technology road for real-time big data predictive analytics.
Gabriel is an independent consultant working in the field as an enterprise, integration and application architect. He is involved in the architecture, design and implementation of SOA and other architectures, primarily in the public sector. Previously, as a SAP Consultant he had to deal with complex systems integrations.
He is a solution architect in AlmavivA and in general a polyhedral IT Professional. He works in different areas of ICT ranging from networks to multimedia, standalone application to web portals and mobile development and project to company management. He designs and implements solutions tailored to the customer by trying to understand its current needs and by anticipating future ones, always aiming at innovation.
Isabelle brings to her role nearly 20 years of technology, consulting, and management experience in Java, application development, middleware and service-oriented architecture. She recently managed the API Manager beta program and has been helping customers around the globe to adopt this product. In her role, she works closely with the WSO2 engineering, sales, and marketing teams. She strongly believes that successful product management requires a great understanding of our customers and the problems they hope to resolve, as well as a strong understanding of the products themselves. Hence, Isabelle regularly participates in WSO2 QuickStart programs and services engagements.
He is the CTO and co-founder at ENEO Tecnología, the company supporting the redBorder project. He specializes in product roadmap definition and technology selection in the areas of big data and security management.
James Governor is a Principal Analyst and Co-Founder at RedMonk. Based in Shoreditch, London, he advises enterprises, startups and major companies such as IBM and Microsoft on developer-led innovation, community and technology strategy. He is also proud to have open-source nonprofit organizations such as the Apache Software Foundation and the Eclipse Foundation as clients.
James is co-author of the O’Reilly publication, “Web 2.0 Design Patterns: What Architects and Entrepreneurs Need to Know.” In 2009, he served as Chairman of SAP’s external panel for stakeholder assurance in Sustainability Strategy and Reporting. He led the creation of the RedMonk sustainability subsidiary, GreenMonk. James makes extensive use of both open source and social media tools in RedMonk’s business operations – @monkchips, has more than 17K followers.
Johann is an Associate Technical Lead at WSO2 and is the product lead of WSO2 Identity Server. In addition to his product development efforts he has provided Security and API Management solutions for numerous customers, during customer Quick Starts. He has also been a speaker at the WSO2 Conference 2013 USA. Johann holds a first class (Hons.) degree in B.Sc. in Engineering, specializing in Computer Science and Engineering, from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, University of Moratuwa. He is also a Sun Certified Java Programmer.
John Mathon joined WSO2 in 2013 and he currently serves as Vice President of Product Marketing. As a founder of TIBCO software and inventor of the publish/subscribe paradigm he helped establish TIBCO as the leading middleware provider in the world. He has spent more than 20 years working on enterprise software for corporations worldwide. Prior to joining WSO2, John started other companies, created numerous patents and has been a visionary for enterprise software. Besides TIBCO, he started Slam Dunk Networks now known as Cloud Prime, Mathon Systems in the DLP space and has helped CA Technologies move to the cloud and SaaS.
Jonathan Marsh joined WSO2 in 2006 and has served as VP of Business Development and currently is the VP of Strategy, helping develop and implement scalable models for sales, marketing, partnerships, alliances, and OEM programs. Prior to joining WSO2, Jonathan spent nearly a decade at Microsoft where he worked to develop and standardize an array of XML and Web Services technologies.

Kasun focuses on the WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus. In addition to his product development efforts, he has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, helping to successfully implement solutions for integrating Web services, SAP, FIX, and mobile services.
He is an elected member of the Apache Software Foundation and a Project Management Committee member and committer for the Apache Synapse open source ESB project. He took part in the Google Summer of Code for 2007, working on the Apache Axis2/C project. He also contributed to the Apache Rampart/C project, having implemented WS-Trust specification for its federated identity framework for Web services. He is proficient in C/C++, specializing in Web services, information retrieval systems, and enterprise search platforms, focusing primarily on indexing components.
Lakmal works with the Cloud Technology team, focusing on the WSO2 Stratos platform as a service.
He has more than 11 years of industry experience. In 2005, Lakmal co-founded thinkCube, the pioneers in developing the next generation of collaborative cloud computing products that are tailored towards telecom operators. He oversaw the overall engineering process and focused special attention to scalability and service delivery of thinkCube solutions.
Lindsey is responsible for all enterprise and channel sales at WSO2.
Bringing more than 15 years experience in enterprise middleware, she has built rapidly scaling sales organizations across both direct and indirect channels. Prior to joining WSO2, she was responsible for building the Intelligent Business Operation and Big Data revenue for Software AG in North America. At Progress Software, she was VP and Managing Director for Indirect Channels at Progress Software and built a worldwide OEM business. At DataDirect Technologies Lindsey held many key positions, including VP Sales for North America.
Luca joined Cisco in October 2003 and has since been involved with L2VPN technology, IP RAN, and pseudowires technology that evolved from his draft-martini design. This technology, which is now an IETF and industry standard, has been accepted as the de-facto industry standard transport for layer2 protocols over MPLS.
He was previously working at Level3 Communications where he was part of the team that built what became the biggest ISP in the world. He has been involved in the internet engineering task force (IETF) for the past 15 years and contributed to many IETF standards.
While at Cisco, Luca worked on the architecture of core, access routers, and MPLS technology. He is now leading the Cisco virtualization strategy in two major areas: mobility and home broadband access.
Luca is currently working in the Cisco Mobile Business group.
Mifan Careem is Director of Solutions Architecture at WSO2. He is experienced in SOA and industry specific solution architectures and specialises in spatial architectures and GIS, eGovernment cloud, emergency management and big data analytics. Mifan works closely with customers liaising with WSO2 Engineering and Sales teams to analyse and define domain specific solution architectures in client domains. He is also lead architect for many global projects, including the national initiative to build a cloud-based SOA platform for local government bodies in Sri Lanka. Mifan is a frequent speaker at events around the globe and was a founding member and board director of the Sahana Disaster Management Project. He is also a consultant spatial architect for many government initiatives in Sri Lanka.
Nestor Fernandez is an engineer in the e-Security R&D group of Barcelona Digital where he is working on applied research in the fields of cloud computing security, identity and access management and IT audit and compliance. He holds a BSc and an MSc in Telecommunications Engineering from Escola Tècnica Superior d’Enginyeria de Telecomunicació de Barcelona (ETSETB) at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and an MSc in Information Security from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
Nirosh’s primary responsibilities are within the role of business generation towards WSO2.
Prior to joining WSO2, he worked with Sri Lankan Airlines, the national carrier of Sri Lanka in the sales and marketing division, where he handled a portfolio of clients. He has also gained experience in the IT sphere, working as an UI Engineer at Virtusa Corp; a global information technology (IT) services company.
He is also actively involved in a variety of sports and leisure activities of which rugby and bowling takes precedence.
Nuwan is an Associate Technical Lead at WSO2. Hi main area of focus is on the architectural and research, and development aspects of WSO2 API Manager. He has also been involved in many customer engagements where he has assisted people in developing their solutions architecture. Prior to joining WSO2, he worked at Informatics International Limited as a Senior Software Engineer.
Paul co-founded WSO2 in 2005 in order to reinvent the way enterprise middleware is developed, sold, delivered and supported through an open source model. In his current role as CTO, he spearheads WSO2’s overall product strategy. Previously, he served as WSO2 vice president of technical sales where he led the development of the groundbreaking WSO2 Enterprise Service Bus. In 2008, Paul was recognized by InfoWorld among the Top 25 CTOs.
Prior to WSO2, Paul was a senior technical staff member at IBM for nine years, where he created the Web Services Gateway and led the team that developed and shipped it as part of the WebSphere Application Server. He also was on the team that put the Service Integration Bus technology into WebSphere Application Server 6. Additionally, Paul was the key WebSphere technical sales lead for Europe, working closely with development to manage beta programs, develop training materials, and enable first-of-a-kind J2EE projects.
Phil Smith is CIO at Transactis, a leading Customer Analytics and Fraud Management service provider in the UK. He is a highly experienced IT Strategist and Transformational Executive, with 25 years of experience shaping and delivering IT Strategies and large scale Enterprise Architectures in a variety of Global 2000 clients across multiple industry sectors. He has held multiple senior level positions at organizations including Gartner, British Telecom, and United Utilities, and is a keen advocate of ensuring that Business and IT Strategy are interwoven and must be developed in partnership.
Prabath focuses on application security and identity management. In addition to his product development efforts, he has provided technology consulting on customer engagements.
He is an Apache Project Management Committee member involved in the Apache Rampart and Axis projects. He also has more than three years of industry experience in Microsoft .NET technologies.
Ruben started his career in the early 90’s as an Oracle and Java consultant. And founded his first company in Poland. From 2001 and onwards he focussed on business ICT solutions and integration based on service oriented architectures (SOA), enterprise servicebus (ESB) and related solutions like Governance, BAM and Identity & Access management.
In 2007 he founded another company, Yenlo, with an international (EMEA) focus on delivering integration solutions based on Java open source (WSO2 / GlassFish). He is also an IT advisor to multiple boards of directors to help them make well-informed strategic decisions.
Sagara is a Senior Technical Lead who focuses on the WSO2 Application Server. Sagara specializes in J2EE, Spring, Web Service and enterprise integration related technologies. In addition to his product development efforts at WSO2 he is also a PMC member of Apache Axis and Apache Web Services Projects and is an active contributor to the Apache Axis2, Woden, Web services and Nuvem projects. He currently serves as the Vice President of the Apache Web Services project.
Sameera focuses on the WSO2 Carbon and WSO2 Web Services Application Server. As a WSO2 intern in 2007, he developed an Axiom version of Rhino’s E4X implementation, which is used in the WSO2 Mashup Server. He has also provided technology consulting on customer engagements, including Quick Start Program, Business Process Execution Language (BPEL), and cloud projects.
He has contributed to a number of Apache Software Foundation (ASF) projects, including Apache Axis2 and Axiom, and was also a co-developer of Apache Rampart2. During the 2007 Google Summer of Code, he contributed to the development of JAX-WS templates for the Apache Axis2/Java Codegen tool.
Samisa has more than a decade of experience working for systems integrators and software vendors with global exposure. In his current role, he leads the development of WSO2’s three open source platforms: the WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform, WSO2 Stratos cloud middleware platform, and WSO2 StratosLive PaaS.
He has been a committer of the Apache Web services project since May 2004, and initiated the Apache Axis2/C project. He has published two books: RESTFul PHP Web Services, and PHP Team Development, in addition to several articles. Samisa is also a visiting lecturer at Computer Science and Engineering Department, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
Application Developement with WSO2: Strategy and Roadmap
Sanjiva has been involved with open source for many years and is an active member of the Apache Software Foundation. He was the original creator of Apache SOAP and has been part of Apache Axis, Apache Axis2 and most Apache Web services projects. He founded WSO2 after having spent nearly 8 years in IBM Research, where he was one of the founders of the Web services platform. During that time, he co-authored many Web services specifications including WSDL, BPEL4WS, WS-Addressing, WS-RF and WS-Eventing.
Selvaratnam Uthaiyashankar joined WSO2 in September 2007. He is a senior software architect and chair of the cloud technologies management committee. Shankar focuses on the WSO2 Stratos cloud middleware platform and Carbon enterprise middleware kernel, and he has worked on the interoperability of Axis2/C and the WSO2 Web Services Framework (WSF). Additionally, Shankar has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, including cloud, enterprise service bus (ESB), governance, and mobile integration solutions.
Shankar is an Apache Software Foundation member and committer on the Axis2/C, Axis2, Rampart/C, and Rampart projects. With more than four years of industry experience, he has a strong background in telecommunication software development and after-sale support. Additionally, he is proficient in C++, Oracle and COM+ technologies.
Senaka focuses on the WSO2 Governance Registry and WSO2 Cloud Services Gateway. In addition to his product development efforts, he has provided technology consulting on customer engagements, helping to successfully implement governance, enterprise application integration, SAP integration, and on-premise portal solutions. He also founded the WSO2 Web Services Framework/C++ during his internship with WSO2 in 2008.
He is an elected member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) and also a Project Management Committee (PMC) member and committer for a number of projects, which currently include Apache Web Services, Axis2, and several Apache incubator projects. He is also a member of the OASIS S-RAMP, WEMI, and TOSCA technical committees. As a participant of the Google Summer of Code for both 2008 and 2009, he worked on the Apache Harmony and Ptolemy II projects at the University of California, Berkeley.
Shammi is an Associate Technical Lead who is the product lead of the WSO2 Message Broker team. He has participated in QSP’s and SAP Integrations for WSO2. Ha has also conducted a webinar on the WSO2 Message Broker.
Shan specializes in mobile technology with over 10 years of experience in that field. He has a strong background in telecommunication software development and is a hardcore coder in Android and iOS platforms. He also lectures in advanced Android and iOS application development.
Prior to joining WSO2Mobile, he was working as the CTO/Director of Microimage Mobile Media for almost 15 years. He played a key role in engineering products where Microimage has won many local and international awards. He is also a Typographist and a specialist in local languages and font technologies. He worked as an external consultant to Microsoft, Sri Lanka and ICTA, Sri Lanka.
Shiro is currently working in the capacity of an Architect in the AppFactory product team. She has over 10 years of experience which includes a background in Telecommunication Billing Systems and Enterprise Search Systems. She holds a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, and is currently pursuing an MPhil at the same university. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Computing from University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and a Master in Business Administration from University of Moratuwa.
Srinath oversees the overall WSO2 platform architecture alongside WSO2 CTO Paul Fremantle. He specializes in Web services and distributed systems, specifically working with aspects of data, scale, and performance.
He is a co-founder of Apache Axis2, an elected member of the Apache Software Foundation, and a Project Management Committee member. He has been involved with the Apache Web Services project since 2002, and is a committer on several Apache open-source projects, including Apache Axis, Axis2, and Geronimo.
Suho is an open source enthusiast, and has successfully completed two Google Summer of Code programs in 2010 and 2011. For GSOC 2010, he integrated OpenID Authentication and implemented Role Based Access Control for Apache PhotArk. For GSOC 2011, he implemented OpenMRS Notifiable Condition Detection (NCD) Module, a real time system that monitors patients’ lab results and notifies critical cases. He is now a committer on both Apache PhotArk and OpenMRS projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka where he specialized in Computer Science and Engineering. As project lead of his final year project, Suho drove the design and implementation of Siddhi-CEP – a high performance complex event processing engine.
Stévan Le Meur is Product Manager at Codenvy. With a background as a developer, he is driven by the belief that great applications should be built in exceptional development environments. He brings this passion to his work on the Codenvy Developer Environment Cloud, where his attention to detail is put to good use.
Sumedha focuses on development of the WSO2 Carbon Core, WSO2 Data Services, WSO2 Governance Registry, WSO2 Business Activity Monitor, and WSO2 API Manager. He has contributed to the successful implementation of data, SAP and repository-based integration projects, as well many WSO2 QuickStart development consulting engagements. He is an active committer with the Apache Axis2 project.
Sven-juergen holds a M.Sc. in aeronautical engineering. Before joining T-Systems he worked as a naval officer on c4i systems. Fitted with experience of several IT projects with different customers and technologies he joined the project intelligent emergency call system in 2012 as chief architect. Besides his passion for developing software systems he is also interested in the areas of ALM tools & methods, DevOps and cloud technologies.
Thijs Volders is WSO2 Expert at Yenlo. He brings to his role more than 15 years of technology and consulting experience in Java, application development, middleware, and service-oriented architecture (SOA). He is the youngest member of the Java Magazine Advisory Board. He has written numerous articles e.g. ‘comparison of build management tools’ and co-written several white papers and speaker at conferences. He recently built the ebMS adapter for the WSO2 ESB.
Tyler is also the founder and CEO of Codenvy, a cloud development environment for coding, building, and testing applications in the cloud. He’s previously held leadership positions at Oracle, Quest (acquired by Dell), and The Middleware Company (acquired by TechTarget), and BEA (acquired by Oracle). He holds degrees in Computer Science and Economics, and is the author of three books on Java.
Yann has been involved in integration projects for more than 10 years. After obtaining a PhD on service based integration platforms, he joined Alcatel Lucent to implement data flows in an ERP centric environment. He is now working at SmartWave as the head of “Integration and Architecture”. He is a certified professional on several integration platform including Oracle SOASuite, SAP PI and WSO2 ESB. He continues to deliver technical recommendation and architecture advice to its customers.
